Great for gaming right out of the box.My son loves this key board. The only thing he would like is that it be wireless. Otherwise it’s excellent. Especially the colour keys that can be changed our. This was a good keyboard until I downloaded the firmware update from the Ducky website. My keyboard immediately stopped working. After researching to figure out what happened or how to fix it, I found numerous people experienced the same problem. It is a shame that Ducky has not addressed this longtime issue. Unfortunately, I am past the return date on Amazon so I have wasted my money. If you buy this keyboard, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE FROM DUCKY.I have a gamer kid and sadly I cannot stand the constant clicking of the keyboard keys. I offered to buy him a keyboard that is quieter and this is the one he picked out. He likes it and I like it.I bought the Ducky One 2 mini with Cherry MX Brown switches as a smaller alternative to the full-size Das Keyboard with MX Blues that I was using until recently. Compared to a full-size keyboard, the Ducky frees up a lot of desk space, letting me place my mouse in a more comfortable and accessible position. Additionally, the MX Brown switches still provide decent audible feedback even if I don't bottom out the keys, but the noise produced is at a far less disruptive level than the Blues. I haven't had any difficulties using this with both my MacBook Pro and my HP Envy, either: Windows 10, Windows 11, and MacOS all play nicely with the Ducky One 2 Mini.My only quibble is that the size can present inconveniences. Having to hold down the function key, for example, to use I/J/K/L in place of something like dedicated arrow keys can be a bit of a pain at times. Likewise with just about any other dedicated function I previously took for granted (volume, screen brightness, etc.). It takes a bit of getting used to, but given that mechanical keyboards feel and perform infinitely better than terrible laptop keyboards, it is worth the time it takes to adjust.Everything about the Ducky One 2 Mini RGB makes me smile. The 60% layout and slim profile are cool, but it's the ability to customize that sets it apart. Macros, LED profiles, shortcuts, and even setting the color of individual keys, you can do it all. The Cherry MX Silent Red keys are so quiet that even pesky anti-click coworkers in an open office won't be bothered, but you still get the good feels of top-shelf mechanical switches. Ergonomically-speaking I love to type on it, the feedback and touch quality of the keys is perfect. I use it professionally every day, and it's my go-to keyboard from now on. Ducky also includes a key-puller tool and several cool alternate key caps in different colors, designs, etc.HOWEVER -- I am unable to give 5 stars because of an issue when using the keyboard with a Mac. Anytime the OS looks for system updates, the keyboard "freezes" (all the LEDs turn off, except those in a single random row which stay on, and you can't type anymore). It's easily fixed by unplugging the USB-C cable and plugging back in, but depending on what you're doing, it can happen a handful of times in a day. Very minor issue, but gets old real quick. Updating the firmware to the latest Ducky offers did not correct the issue. AFAIK, this is strictly a macOS problem, Windows users should be fine. If/when the problem is corrected, I'd be happy to update my review to 5 stars.TL;DR -- tons of functionality packed in a small size, LEDs are bright and functional, Cherry MX Silent Red keys are quiet enough for grumpy neighbors but still feel amazing to type on, comes with extras. Would definitely recommend. Minor but annoying issue when using keyboard with macOS (as of Oct 2019).UPDATE (Oct '20) -- Finally found a fix for this, the official Ducky firmware still doesn't handle it afaik. To fix:1. Press and hold Fn + Alt + P for 3 seconds, until just the number keys and A-F row are lit up2. Enter "05AC024F" on the keyboard3. Unplug the USB-C cable, and plug it back in.4. Enjoy! As promised, I'm upgrading my review to 5 stars. I don't care that Ducky doesn't have a fix yet, just that there is one :) CheersI bought the Cherry MX Silent Red Switches version and I am in love with it, I have so much more room on my desk for other peripherals, the sound of the keyboard isn’t distracting and I even ditched my Logitech G915 for it. If I’m gonna recommend a 60% it’ll be this one.I own two and think they're great. The only way I'll switch is if I start making my own custom builds.Pros:* Programmable without software. I'm a Linux user so not having to use custom software that won't run on Linux is great. All of the customization is done directly on the board.* Tons of RGB settings. I'm not a big RGB guy but if you're into that, Ducky has you covered.* Lots of integrated functions onboard by default. For example, FN + WASD moves the mouse, FN + QE left/right clicks. FN + RF is mouse wheel up/down. FN + IJKL are the arrow keys.* Fully customizable. You can record macros or totally rearrange every key on the board if you want to.* Switches and stabilizers are lubed at the factory so it feels and sounds really nice for a premade board.* Two sets of adjustable feet for whatever incline you find most comfortable.Cons:* None. I love everything about this board. My son loves it, apparently it’s a big name in the gaming world for an 11 year old. We’ve had it for 1 month. Très contente de mon achat et mon gars très content de son cadeauI was so excited to get my new keyboard as it showed up in the mail today buy upon arrival the type c port was brokenUsb port came loose inside after 2 months. Seller is non responsive. What a waste of money.I wanted to replace my old keyboard and jumped the gun on this Ducky keyboard. I love it. No issues. Easy plug and play. Expensive but I love the simplicity and the basicness of it. I use it for work and for personal purposes. Highly recommend if you're not a hardcore customizer.
